Cumberland Township Authority (CTA) was incorporated on May 20, 1963, to provide reliable wastewater service to a growing community. Since its founding, CTA has focused on protecting public health, supporting responsible development, and safeguarding local water resources.
Over the years, CTA expanded its system to meet increasing demand with the construction of its treatment facilities. The North Plant was built in 1965, followed by the South Plant in 1968, establishing the foundation of the Authority’s current operations. Both plants were upgraded and expanded in 2003 to increase capacity and improve treatment performance.
Today, CTA serves nearly 1,700 customers across the township. The Authority continues to invest in infrastructure improvements, including an upcoming biosolids press project designed to enhance efficiency and support long-term system sustainability. CTA remains committed to delivering high-quality service and maintaining clear, reliable communication with the community it serves.
